Mbola Tsara: Welcome To Masoala Forest Lodge!

In the north-east of Madagascar we can find the largest protected area of the island: Masoala, which is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007 and a national park since 1997. We can find half of Madagascar’s endemic plant species at the park and can also find a large variety of animals including 15 species of lemurs such as the aye-aye, the red ruffed lemur and rare animals such as tenrecs and the ‘tomato frog’. A stay at Masoala Lodge is a unique experience as the lodge is located on the beach where the ocean and the forest meet, so you can not only see wildlife such as lemurs, butterflies and birds, but also can see marine mammals such as whales from your hammock on the beach. Besides exploring the forest on foot, you can also go kayak or join a whale cruise on one of the lodge’s many boats and can even go snorkeling.

At Masoala Forest Lodge you are in one of the most beautiful, unique and remote places in the world. There are multiple activities for you to enjoy. You will have a national park guide who will assist you through your activities of choice.
